Hope everybody enjoys the Spring Trail and that the weather will be reasonably good on the 17th – 19th.

1. A) Photographs to be taken on days determined by the Club Committee.(see E below)
2. B) Each participant will be allocated a unique letter to be included in the image ( & denotes your letter until you are allocated a letter by the club secretary )

Your best shot of each subject to be numbered as follows:

001-&.jpg for 001 above

002-&.jpg for 002 above and so on to…..

010-&.jpg for 010 above.

Since you will be saving each image in jpeg file type it will not be necessary to type in .jpg.

1. C) Photographs to be presented on CD or Memory stick with your name and letter on the CD cover or Memory stick, or email to manorphoto@eircom.net by March 24th.
2. D) File size of each image should be 1024px x 683px for standard sensor

Or 1024px X 768px for bridge, compact, or 4/3 sensors.  Resolution  72ppi.

1. E) All images must be taken on 17^th – 19^th March and must be the original work of the participant. Nothing to be imported from previous files or from any other source.
2. F) Photographs of subjects to be taken as found. ( No props to be added)
3. G) All images to be taken along the designated route.
4. H) Respect private property – do not enter without permission.
5. I) Judging will take place on Mar 27th in the Oakwood Arms Hotel, 7:30pm

Location: Aprox 1km from Kilrush Town on the N67 (Killimer Road)

Opening Times: 9.30 am to 5.00 pm   Admission: Free

Accessibility

The garden is level and there are wide gravel paths throughout. The summer house, Coffee Shop and Gift Shop are wheelchair accessible. A disability restroom is available.

Parking

There is extensive parking available for coaches and cars.

Club Members Success at NIPA Audio Visual Event

Congratulations to Shannon Camera Club member Helen McQuillan LIPF on winning Best Nature Sequence at the NIPA Audio Visual Competitions held in The Courtyard Theatre, Ballyearl, Co Down on 17th and 18th of February 2017. Helens sequence titled ‘ Natures Tapestry’ featured flora and fauna of a waste land area with beautiful photography and music accompanied by her own words which added depth and meaning to the sequence.

Congratulations also to Edwin Bailey LIPF on winning 3rd place in the All Ireland section of the competition in which there were 17 entries from various parts of the country with 10 photo clubs represented. Edwin’s entry featured a visit to Bunratty Folk Park while reminiscing on how living used to be in his youth and making comparisons with what he saw through his camera lens while in the folk park. Prizes for the event were presented by Councillor Noreen McCelland, Deputy Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey. On addressing the audience she said she was delighted to see the presentation of winning entries and was captivated by the artistry of the sequences and encouraged audio visual enthusiasts to continue their creative journey and wished them every success in the future.

Feb 20th                 Photo League. Theme, Minimalist monochrome.

                                Photoshop Tutorials and a short discussion on the portraiture. 

Feb 27th                  Photo League,  Practical Portrait session with studio lights. 

Mar 4th                   Distinctions, Dumamaise Arts Centre, Portlaoise. Ls & As only.

March 6^th               Photo League. Theme, Spring.      Bring back Sports photos.

March 13th^th          Photo League. Announce Spring Trail.  Three members to present their work.

March 17^th – 19th^th Shoot Spring Trail.

Mar 20th               Speaker. TBC. 

March 27^th            Spring Trail Judging. 

April 3rd               Photo League. Consider images for National Club Finals. 

April 10^th              Photo League, final night.         Spring Trail review.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all Club members.

The Club returns for 2017 on Monday night January 9th at 7:30pm in the Oakwood Hotel, where we will be meeting in the Conservatory. Go left through the bar to get to that room. We will be in The Hughes Room on all other nights up to Easter.
