Bord na Mona Calendar Competition

Send us your photos for the 2017 Calendar Send us your favourite photographs so we can feature them in the Bord na Móna 2017 Calendar. The title of the Bord na Móna Photography competition is “Heartland”. The theme is open to your personal interpretation but we’re looking for beautiful photographs of the heartlands of Ireland. These pictures can be anything from close ups to wide landscapes, trains or tourists, blossoms, birds or bogcotton, man, woman or machine– it is entirely up to you -as long as the photos demonstrate some association with our love of the Irish heartlands. The twelve photos selected by our panel of judges will appear in the Bord na Móna 2017 Calendar. An overall winner will also be chosen. The overall winner will receive a prize (€250) and their photo will appear on the calendar cover. The closing date for entries is Friday 22nd October, 2016. Oct 15^th/16th     National Audio Visual Championships, Arus Chronan, Clondalkin, Dublin.

Oct 17th          Audio Visual Night with all the AV Group’s entries for 2016 .

Oct 23^rd           SACC Creative Photography Competition, Park Hotel, Dungarvan.

Oct 24^th           Photo League.   Bring back … Shoes in the landscape.

Exercise: Halloween Challenge.. to be brought back on November 14^th. 

Oct 31st          Bank Holiday   No Club.

Nov 7th           Photo League.. Mono only.  Understanding Depth of Field, practical. Bring cameras.          Return your results on December 5^th.

Welcome Back

The Club resumes on Monday night, Sept. 19th after the Summer Break. We will have a busy time between now and Christmas, starting with preparations for the National Shield which will be held in Cork on Nov. 12th. Venue to be decided. The National AV Championships will be held in Arus Chronain, Clondalkin, Dublin on October 15th/16th. we will be well represented there. The SACC Creative Photography competition will be held this year in the Park Hotel, Dungarvan, on Sunday October 23rd. The SACC Regional Round of the Photographer of the Year Competition will be held in the Horse & Jockey Hotel, on Sunday Nov. 20th. and with plenty time to prepare the regional round of the Nature Photographer of the year will be run in Thurles  on a date and venue to be decided. The Tallaght and Cork Salons are now open for entries.
