Congratulations to Shannon Camera Club member Helen McQuillan LIPF on winning Best Nature Sequence at the NIPA Audio Visual Competitions held in The Courtyard Theatre, Ballyearl, Co Down on 17th and 18th of February 2017. Helens sequence titled ‘ Natures Tapestry’ featured flora and fauna of a waste land area with beautiful photography and music accompanied by her own words which added depth and meaning to the sequence.
Congratulations also to Edwin Bailey LIPF on winning 3rd place in the All Ireland section of the competition in which there were 17 entries from various parts of the country with 10 photo clubs represented. Edwin’s entry featured a visit to Bunratty Folk Park while reminiscing on how living used to be in his youth and making comparisons with what he saw through his camera lens while in the folk park. Prizes for the event were presented by Councillor Noreen McCelland, Deputy Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey. On addressing the audience she said she was delighted to see the presentation of winning entries and was captivated by the artistry of the sequences and encouraged audio visual enthusiasts to continue their creative journey and wished them every success in the future.
