Recently I have been researching the various opportunities that exist for members to learn, grow, and even sell their work. Below are just some of the opportunities I have found. Feel free to let me know if there are any others you might want to see on the list .

  1. The Irish Image Collection: Based in Canada, this agency sells stock images of Ireland or Irish related subjects. Used mainly abroad, photos from this supplier are regularly used in books, magazines, encyclopaedias and marketing materials.
  2. The Irish Picture Library: A stock image library specialising in historical and cultural photos of Ireland and irish related subjects. Again, photos from this supplier are used in books, magazines, encyclopaedias and marketing materials.
  3. The Burren College runs photography workshops during the summer months specialising in burren flora, fauna and landscape photography.
  4. Carsten Krieger runs regular photowalks and workshops in West Clare and the Burren. Details of these walks are available on the website.
  5. Peter Cox is an irish landscape photographer who runs courses in Ireland, Iceland and Scotland. His next Irish Course in Cork and Kerry is running in July 2015.
  6. George Karbus is a Lahinch based Landscape photographer who provides one to one guided landscape workshops as well as photoshop tutorial sessions from his base in Lahinch.
  7. Gerard Conneely is a Galway based Commercial photographer who provides beginners courses in Co. Galway.
  8. The Dublin Photography School run a one day street photography workshop. The next one is in January.
  9. Platform 3 Photo in Cork run various courses and workshops as well as hosting various renowned photographers for talks from time to time.
